OUR GUEST SPEAKER of August 18, 2010

Michael King

Mike addressed approximately 40 members of the North Reading and

Reading Clubs at a joint meeting, at the Hill View CC, on the 18th.

As may be seen above all of these Rotarians are interested in Mike's presentation, which

just happened to be trivia and how he remembers small details of sports history.

Michael is an author and has written four books.

And these Rotarians where also spell bound by Mike's ability to recall different names

and dates. Michael has generously agreed to assist the North Reading Club in

the preparation of the up coming Trivia Night, which will be held in October.

Eric Evans (Edward Jones Financial Services), Priscilla Gotwald (RMLD) and Mary Ellen Carr (Carr's Hallmark Cards).

Our 1st Trivia night, held on Friday October 29th

at the Hillview Country Club was a great success

Just ask our Club Treasurer Dave O'Neil (center). He was eagerly awaiting

the next question.

You could see Dave looking at somerthing and really concentrating on a message. So who

was he listening to? You guested it. The MC for the evening, and Master of the questions-

our Club President Doug Mercurio. Kathy Spurr, a member of the Reading

Rotary Club can be seen as she trys to recall a bit of trivia.

Doug is trying to explain a point of fact as our most recent Past President

Joe Scianatico looks on.

Doug is still holding the participants captive, well almost all, as they review some

of their answers as Michael Linnane, one of newest members, looks on. If you

look very closely at the center of the picture you will see our Public Relations

Chair, Priscilla Gottwald (looking to the left) who also, while doing her PR

thing, took numerous close up pictures of each table or team.

Noted in the center are Dave and Maria Hoskison. Word has it that they know our Club Membership Chair, Eric Evans and our District Governor fairly well. But that did not stop them

from really concentrating on the game.

Peter Majane, our President Elect, and Shannon Moynihan, our Secretary, are noted here

discussing some aspect of the event. In the center rear Eris Evans can be seen

totaling some of the results and to the left is a former Rotarian Kim Tannian.
